A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THIS MINISTRY

some of the work being done

One of the programs I have the privilege to help out with is called Brooks Range Bible Camp. BRBC takes place in the Brooks Range of Alaska and is 43 nautical miles from the nearest town that is accessible by road year round. Everyone must be flown into the camp and kids come from villages that don’t have roads connecting them to the rest of Alaska, which is why aviation is such an essential tool to reach people. According to studies only 20% of Alaska is accessible by road. Here are some videos put together of BRBC. The first video is of Jr kids in the age group of 9-12 https://youtu.be/4G_8-trWduI , second is of teenagers age group 13-18 https://youtu.be/2fSoVXLr4Hs .

how it all began

In late 2013, God started doing a drastic work in me. Going through a bit of down time, I dove deep into scripture and spent a lot of one on one time with our Lord and Savior. I describe it as “some of the closest times I've encountered with the Holy Spirit to this day.” It was also during that time that God placed on my heart the purpose and plan to do ministry through aviation, and that Alaska was in the scope of it. I always had an interest in aviation but never did much with it before this time. I felt as tho the Holy Sprit gave me a nudge and said I gave you this desire in your heart for a reason and I need you to pursue it. Up until this point I had never been to Alaska ether but now that I've been, its amazing to me how God gives us the desires of our hearts in serving him beyond what we ever imagined.

Overwhelmed with the though of what all this would required of me and the level of sacrifices I would have to make, I started trying to run from it all. But God was gracious and continually kept bringing me back to it, confronting every doubt that I had about what He had asked of me.

August 2016, I committed myself to full-time training. I started with aviation maintenance tech training, which I finished in August 2017 with my A&P certificates and then completed my private pilots certificate by December of that year.

Wanting to continue moving forward toward what God called me to do, I felt God laid it on my heart to put together a non-profit that me and others could operate under. I began the process in early 2018 of starting Missions Aviation Envoy and making it a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. And in July of 2018, Missions Aviation Envoy was officially established.

Everything has been falling into place as God leads me in this journey, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been without its challenges and hard work. It’s been quite a process, but God has been faithful to bring this vision to reality and I am excited to see what God does in and through the organization to reach the remote parts of the world through aviation.

How We Operate

At Missions Aviation Envoy we want to be transparent and open with our partners. We have also chosen to operate with a board of directors to ensure accountability and keeping things as effective and efficient as possible.

We have also set up the organization with the intentions of it being its own entity, being a tool for those serving within its structure and those we are serving.

Our Name

Our name, Missions Aviation Envoy, is derived from three elements: 1. Missions: which is what we do, 2. Aviation: the most valuable tool we have for efficiency and effectiveness to reach people in remote areas and 3. Envoy: from Proverbs 13:17 that states, “a trustworthy envoy (messenger) brings healing”. Something we strive to be; messengers presenting the gospel and spiritual healing of salvation in Jesus as the gift that it really is to mankind. Doing it the best ways we know how to show Christ’s love.

Abbreviated as “MAEnvoy”, like the Spanish term “me voy” meaning “I go” or “I am going”. What we are doing is for a far greater cause than ourselves.

How this is made possible

For all of this to work there needs to be a dynamic of three different types of people involved.

1. Prayer Warriors: Those that cover the whole operation with prayer. Praying for previsions, guidance, safety, etc.

2. The Missionaries: Those doing the work. Those who have stepped out in obedience to leave the comforts of their homes and sometimes countries to be servants for God.

3. Financial Partners: Those who give to make all of this possible by providing funds, tools, and equipment necessary to accomplish outreach and ministry.
